Scholarship Program

The First Militia Chapter annually recognizes chapter members and their families with scholarships to encourage continuing education and self-development. At least two scholarships and up to $3000 will be awarded to deserving students of First MIlitia Chapter Members. Sponsorship and Applicant Criteria remain the same as previous years.

The 2010 Scholarship Program will open in May 2010 and close the last week of July 2010 with awards presented at the August Membership Meeting and Dinner. The amount and number of scholarships awarded will be determined in May 2010 when the Letter of Instruction will be posted to the website. 2010 High School graduates and/or students with less than 45 credit hours sponsored by a current member: a veteran who is a member with 60 credit hours or less; or a senior JROTC cadet sponsored by a First Militia Chapter Member.

Criteria for Award of First Militia Chapter 2010 Scholarships

APPLICANT

  • A US Citizen with no felony convictions between the ages of 17 and 25 years old at time of application. Exceptions may be granted by Scholarship committee and approval by President or VP of the Chapter.
  • A High School graduate with a 2.5 GPA or higher (4.0) Scale.
  • Current full time (12+ credit hrs) college student with 45 Credit hrs or less.
  • An Army Military Service member, a full time college student with 60 credit hrs or less.
  • Have not received a Chapter Scholarship previously

SPONSOR

  • A First Militia Chapter Current Member may sponsor her/himself IAW applicant criteria above.
  • Members may sponsor one relative or dependent within applicant criteria above.
  • Senior Amy Instructors (SAI) may sponsor one JROTC graduating senior cadet provided they are a current member of the First Militia AUSA Chapter.
